Finance help, built on official rules.

What TechPot covers, what to expect from each area, and where a registered professional should take over.

Banking and payments

₹
Guide live

Most banking problems follow a pattern, and most have a free official route if you know the order of steps.

What you get

  • How to read a failed-transaction or wrong-debit situation and which timelines apply
  • How to complain to your bank, then escalate to the RBI Ombudsman
  • What to keep ready: dates, reference numbers, screenshots
  • Spotting common payment frauds before they happen

Good to know

Live nowThe RBI complaint route is explained step by step on the Learn page.

Insurance buying

In preparation

Insurance is a long-term decision. We help you understand a policy before you sign. We do not sell you one.

What you get

  • What to ask about waiting periods, exclusions, sub-limits and claim settlement
  • How to compare policies on the same terms instead of premium alone
  • What to do when a claim is rejected: insurer, IRDAI Bima Bharosa, Insurance Ombudsman
  • Why disclosing health and income details correctly matters at the start

Good to know

What we do not doWe do not sell insurance or earn commission on any policy. Selling insurance needs an IRDAI licence, which TechPot does not hold.

Tax and filing

₹
In preparation

Tax rules change every year, so we always point you to the Income Tax Department’s own pages first.

What you get

  • Which portal and form fits which situation
  • How to read a notice calmly and what a sensible response looks like
  • Records worth keeping, and for how long
  • Basics of how income is taxed, without jargon

Good to know

For your own returnFiling and tax planning for your own case should be done with a practising professional who has your documents.

Investing awareness

In preparation

We explain how markets and products work, what they cost and what can go wrong. We never tell you what to buy.

What you get

  • How mutual funds, shares, dividends and fixed income differ
  • What expense ratios, exit loads and taxes do to what you keep
  • How to check whether someone offering advice is registered with SEBI
  • How to think about goals, time and risk before choosing anything

Good to know

Returns are never promisedNo one can promise investment returns. Calculators here are illustrations with assumed numbers. Personal investment advice needs a SEBI-registered adviser.

Government and RTI

In preparation

Public systems work better when you know which door to knock on and what to write.

What you get

  • How to file an RTI application, online and on paper
  • Central versus state RTI, fees and timelines
  • How to appeal when you do not get a reply
  • Public grievance channels that actually get read

Good to know

Source firstWe link the official portal for each process so you do not depend on a third party.

Small business finance

In preparation

Many small owners know their product well and their numbers less well. This is where a cost accountant’s training helps most.

What you get

  • Costing a product or service so the price covers real costs
  • Reading margins, break-even and cash flow in plain language
  • Basic record keeping that makes tax time easier
  • Questions to ask before taking a business loan

Good to know

Built from practiceThese explainers draw on Pavan’s work as a practising Cost Accountant and as a business owner.

Technology and AI

In preparation

Technology is the second layer. It helps you do the first layer faster and more safely.

What you get

  • Using AI tools carefully for reading documents, without trusting them blindly
  • Basic digital safety: OTPs, links, fake apps and fake calls
  • Which official apps and portals are worth installing

Good to know

Verify before actingAI tools can be wrong. We show how to check an answer against the official source.

Who can do what

Some financial activities are regulated in India.

Regulated activities

Investment advice needs SEBI registration. Selling insurance needs an IRDAI licence. Tax return filing and certain professional work need the right qualification and, where required, registration.

TechPot’s explainers, tools and videos are educational. Unless a registration is listed here, nothing on this website is regulated advice.

Registrations held by TechPot or its team for regulated activity:

None listed at present.

Read the full disclaimer, terms and privacy policy.

Common questions

Can TechPot tell me which fund or policy to buy?

No. We explain how products work and what to compare. Choosing a specific product for you is personal advice, which needs a registered adviser or licensed insurance professional.

Is the content in Telugu or English?

Both. Videos are in conversational Telugu with common English words. This website is mostly in English so official terms stay clear.

Who checks the facts?

Every explainer starts from an official source and is reviewed by a qualified Cost and Management Accountant before it is published.

Do you charge for anything?

The videos, guides and calculators are free. If paid services are ever added, they will be described here with the credentials behind them.

What if I find a mistake?

Tell us on Instagram or through the contact page. Rules change, and we would rather correct a page quickly than leave it wrong.

Have a money question? Ask us.

The questions we hear most often become our next explainer.
